A closer look at the systems needed to make our bike autonomous.
Watch the brake and steering modules slide straight into the top tube, then see the steering module turn the front fork through a set of internal gears. The same setup lets AutoBike brake on its own, too — and hold itself in place when it's parked.
Pulling the lever on the frame raises or lowers a pair of small wheels at the back. Deployed, they give AutoBike a stable, tricycle-like stance for driving itself; folded away, the bike rides like a normal bike again.
A compact box at the back holds the bike's computer, battery, and safety systems — including an emergency-stop button that can shut everything down instantly.
AutoBike constantly senses what's around it and always knows exactly where it is, so it can plan a safe path and steer itself there.
